1971

Cragin Shelton, Little Rock, AR, and Kay Trevathan '72 were married in Germantown, Tennessee, on December 30, 1971. On December 30, 2021, they celebrated 50 years together with friends and family at Star of India restaurant in Little Rock. ‘Nary family attending included TKE Little Brothers Ray Turnbull '72 and Scott Pender '73, along with Ed Baker '72, Charles Holmes '72, Deborah Haley Holmes '72, Cindi Rush Turnbull '72, and Kerry Bruce Tranum '72.

1989

Danny Presley, Austin, TX, has been named Acting Superintendent of Schools for the Round Rock Independent School District. Presley has more than 30 years of experience as an educator in schools throughout Texas and Louisiana and was the inaugural principal of Cedar Ridge High School. He has served as Senior Chief of Schools and Innovation, the District’s second-in-command, for the past eight years. In this role, Presley oversees the District’s Area Superintendents as well as departments including Health Services, Fine Arts, and Athletics. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Centenary and his doctoral degree from Texas A&M University in College Station.

1991

Warren Clifton, Waterville, OH, and Annelise '92 Clifton recently appeared together in Black Swamp Players production of "August, Osage County." The Cliftons moved to NW Ohio in July 2019. Annelise has been in a number of community theatre productions, including "The Addams Family," (Morticia) "The Drowsy Chaperone," (Woman In Chair) "Matilda," (Trunchbull) and "Chicago" (Mama Morton). Warren and Annelise also began a new theatre company, TBD Productions, during the COVID pandemic. So far TBD has produced "Gidion's Knot," "The Guys," and "Constellations" and presented "Motherhood Out Loud" over Mother’s Day weekend.

Patricia A. Matthew, Montclair, NJ, was awarded the Anthony E. Kaye Fellowship from the National Humanities Center in March 2022, for her project Gender, Sugar, and the Afterlives of Abolition. Matthew is associate professor of English at Montclair State University.

1994

Fr. Justin Daffron, New Orleans, LA, was named the new Interim President of Loyola New Orleans in February 2022.

1998

Dr. Joya Misra, a professor of sociology and public policy and director of the Institute for Social Science Research at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, has been elected president of the American Sociological Association (ASA). Misra holds a Ph.D. and MA from Emory University and BA degree from Centenary.

2006

Sarah Black Sorensen, Round Rock, TX, welcomed baby #5 last June (June 21, 2021) – the family’s fourth girl, Lydia Renee. Her siblings, Katelyn (10), Simon (8), Rosalie (5), and Juliet (2), adore her and love toting her around. The older two have enjoyed her antics during homeschool days. They also recently bought some family land and are building a house to raise this crew in the country out in ETX.

Dr. Kathrine Weeks, Shreveport, LA, was awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award at the 2022 Centenary College Founder’s Day Convocation in February.

2011

Sarah Duet, Shreveport, LA, showcased an exhibit at Centenary’s Meadows Museum titled, WHAT HAPPENED IS HAPPENING. The exhibit was on display from March 7, 2022 through April 1, 2022.

2018

Travion Kirkendoll, Campti, LA, was named one of the newest members of the Harlem Globetrotters. Kirkendoll’s Globetrotter nickname is “Diesel.”


Marriages

Dr. Tierra Range, Shreveport, LA, married Jacob Mosher ’17 in April 2021.
