Ladies & Gents Golf

Senior Reed Balcerowicz (Crosby, Texas) was named to the 2020 All-Louisiana College Men's Golf Team by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA), one of just 13 players on the team. Balcerowicz was named an Honorable Mention selection and was a model of consistency for the Gents this past season as he participated in all five of Centenary's tournaments, earning three top-five finishes. He only had one finish outside the top 10 all season and finished ranked 27th in the region and 162nd nationally in Division III. Balcerowicz saved his best for last in his senior season as he posted a career-best scoring average of 73.77 with an average finish of 7th place. He claimed the individual title at the 2020 LeTourneau YellowJacket Invitational, his first career win in his last collegiate event, firing a final round of 68 to win by a shot. Senior Brodey Warner (Brookeland, Texas) had two top-five finishes this season for the Gents at the Louisiana College Fall Invitational in September and the Tempest Intercollegiate in October. On the women’s side, seniors Erin Rostro (Kyle, Texas) and Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Arkansas) earned top-25 finishes in the Ladies’ final tournament of the season at the BSN Sports Dataw Island Invitational in March.

Tennis

Senior Max Wamsley was named to the 2020 SCAC All-Sportsmanship Men's Tennis Team while freshman Susi Wilson was named to the 2020 SCAC All-Sportsmanship Women’s Tennis Team.

Wamsley and Wilson were also two of nine Ladies and Gents named to the 2020 SCAC Spring Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll. Joining the two were Colin Dixon, Paul Nathan Lim, Corey Nobles, and Nolan Tomasek for the Gents and Alyssa Davis, Remi Miller, and London Todd for the Ladies.

Centenary athletics announced the suspension of its men's and women's tennis programs following the spring 2020 season. The College is exploring competitive tennis alternatives for its current student-athletes.

Gents Baseball

The Gents posted a 9-4 record and scored 10 runs or more in a game five times. Senior outfielder Cody Crowder (Shepherd, Texas) led the team with a .389 batting average and collected a team-high 21 hits. He also led the team in home runs (4) and RBI (18). Senior right-handed pitcher Matthew Devillier (Lake Charles, Louisiana) led the pitching staff with a 2.08 earned run average and two complete games while posting a 3-1 record. The two seniors swept the SCAC Baseball individual awards after the first week of the season as Crowder was named the Hitter of the Week while Devillier earned Pitcher of the Week honors.

Softball

The Ladies won four of their final six games and went 4-1 in one-run games this past season. Senior Haley Campbell (Erath, Louisiana) led with 14 hits including four multi-hit games and a team-best seven extra-base hits while batting .359. She had a team-best 11 runs scored and led the team with 39 at-bats. Senior Maddie Fremen (Luling, Louisiana), freshmen Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nevada), and Taylor Mayo (Shreveport, Louisiana), combined for 35 hits, 14 RBI, and each batted over .330.

Lacrosse

A trio of freshmen - Michael Mosura (Bossier City, Louisiana), Mark Temple (Houston, Texas) and John Mark Waniewski (Bossier City, Louisiana) - combined for 28 goals, 34 points, and six assists to lead the Gents’ offense in their first season of the return to varsity competition.
